Flavor Profile:The leafy green leaves are tender with a bitter taste when eaten raw. Once cooked, the bitterness dissipates, turning into a mild, sweet taste similar to spinach.
Description: Swiss Chard has broad leaves and a husky, crisp stalk. The stalk ranges from white to hot pink or red, often called “Rainbow Chard”, with the leaves darkening towards the tops of the vegetables. The leaves and stalk are both edible.

Soil & Planting requirements: Full sun, Swiss chard works best in rich, moist soil with a soil pH between 6.0 and 6.8. Plant about 12 to 18 inches apart in fertile soil.
